Lath and plaster repairs.
This project was originally to repair the patch under the window. In this old timber framed house, near Cranbrook, Kent.
Here you can see the sawn oak laths, ready to receive the first coat of lime plaster.

But on looking at the top section. there was an issue with the ceiling joists. As you can see the end of the joists have disappeared, so new oak joists, have been carefully scarfed in to extend the joists, now they sit on the plate. Oak repairs carried out by local carpenter, Mark Smith 07724 848 564

So now the next stage, of re-pairing the laths and fixing new ones, ready to receive the first coat of lime plaster, can start.
